Political Theatre - Term 1 Week 1 Lesson 2

If you have completed the tasks for "Tuning in The Blue Planet" start a new post [with a heading - Political Theatre] and do this work.
TASK 1: Start a new blog post. Write in your own words what you think political theatre might be. There is a definition below. You may goggle political theatre/street theatre/ agitprop/propaganda but mainly you need to THINK. Talk to someone else  about what you think it could be.
"Political theatre" is a term that has been used to refer to three different things: theatre that comments on political issues, political action or protest that has a theatrical quality to it, and any action by politicians that is intended to make a point rather than accomplish something substantive.

Task 2: What would your message be?
Task 3: Write a Director's Concept for your play - you can do this in pairs but post on both your blogs. Here is a template.

I want people to stop using packaging in their lunch boxes because the packaging ends up being washed into waterways. I would do a scene with a boy eating his lunch on the beach and he leaves his rubbish there. Some seagulls pick it up and carry it out to sea. They drop it in the ocean where a baby seal is going out for the first time. The seal gets tangled in the plastic and is washed up to the beach dieing. The boy finds the dying seal and tries to save it but it is too late.The 2 seagulls would also be narrators.

Task 4: Do a storyboard with captions for your concept. {search- storyboard template and do it on a google doc}
Task 5: If you were performing in the street what props or set would you use? What costumes/masks/make-up would be worn. Do a picture board with captions for your design ideas.Image result for sea costume
